Letters: More green spaces needed

I feel during this time and beyond COVID-19 that everyone, young and old, need some space where they can go and relax and enjoy the outdoors
Memorial Park
This letter writer thinks more should be done by Delta council to provide more green space especially in Ladner's Memorial Park.

Editor:

Memorial Park is a community park located in the center of Ladner.

Numerous condominiums, townhouses and more purposed for Evergreen Lane surround Memorial Park. Families and seniors have no safe, outdoor facilities in these complexes, and Memorial Park is the park in walking distance for their physical, mental and social needs, during COVID-19 and beyond.

It is important that Delta council take into consideration the needs of all of Ladner. Memorial Park already has a playground, water park for children, and now an increase playground for Reach Child and Youth Development but what has Delta council implemented for seniors and other adults who just want a quiet, safe place to go and enjoy the open space and the opportunity to meet with friends?

I feel during this time and beyond COVID-19 that everyone, young and old, need some space where they can go and relax and enjoy the outdoors. Delta council has continued to allow townhouses, condominiums for families and seniors with no playgrounds and no courts for social ability to be built, thus the green space which is Memorial Park has become very important in the lives of the people that live near it.
