Our federal debt will cost us over $40 billion in interest this year and MPs will vote to approve this as they have over previous years, yet they look forward to $9,000/month pensions.
In the future, while the MPs collect their pensions, the massive debt will have to be paid by selling off assets and defunding services.
How about we get the MPs to pass a law to use all of their pensions to pay down the debt? We will see if they care more for themselves than Canadians, as they probably won’t do this.
Increasingly, we see we are helpless and that our politicians are untouchable and out of touch. If they vote no on the budget that will trigger an election and they’ll lose their gravy train/pensions.
