Today, June 22, we were horrified to see that the beautiful, shade giving trees along the south side of 44th Avenue have been chopped down and chipped up.
We remember that when we moved to Ladner 32 years ago, that part of 44th Avenue was extremely hot and unpleasant to walk along in warm weather, as there was no shade. We were happy to eventually see trees planted along there; they were beautiful to the eye, and very shade giving. They made a great difference.
Whatever has happened to Delta’s policy to protect trees?
Why could they not have been removed with a tree spade, and moved somewhere where they could have continued to benefit the earth, and all those lucky enough to enjoy their beauty and shade?
