The most extraordinary thing happened to my husband and me on Jan. 3 at the Starbucks at the Commons Mall. I have to share this because to us, it was a wonderful act of kindness.

We were in line at the drive-thru, waiting to get out coffees and there was a grey Nissan in front of us with a young lad in the back seat and a young lady driving.

When our turn came to pick up our coffees, the young lady said from the window that your coffee was paid for by the car ahead of you, so my husband said we will pay for the coffee for the car behind us, which we did.

To the lovely young women, your act of kindness was really overwhelming and we didn't get a chance to say thank you. We do thank you very much. You are very kind, and I hope that someone will do the same for you someday.

Ladner has some really wonderful people here. As seniors, we don't get out too often once a week for groceries and have been isolating since March, so this meant so much.
