Editor:

I just had to write about something that warmed my heart today (Nov. 10) and one of the reasons I love our community.

Today (Nov. 10) I took my dad and sister to a local pub for lunch as my sister was travelling back from New York, where at 73-years-old, she had just completed her 24th marathon run. My dad at 98 met us there in his electric wheelchair on which he mounted his veteran plate he was proud of having removed it from his car a number of years ago.

We completed our meal and upon requesting our bill we were informed that someone anonymously paid for our meal and was their way of thanking him for his service.

This brought a tear to our eyes. I just want to say thank-you on behalf of ourselves and our father who served as a private in the Canadian army in an artillery battalion in the Second World War.

Thank you Delta and our anonymous remembrance person.
