I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Optimist for helping support our Ukraine Benefit Concert that featured Ukrainian concert pianist Anna Sagalova.
The generous space you gave in the paper for your advance write up/press release is greatly appreciated.
The concert was almost sold out and we were able to raise a significant amount for the Ukraine charity, and also were able to pay Anna a generous performance fee.
Equally as important was the concert itself.
I was very proud of our Ladner audience as being amazingly appreciative… They gave Anna three standing ovations.
And Anna did something that I don’t believe is typical… She spoke to the audience several times, describing the composers of the Ukrainian music she was about to play.
Then at the end Anna did an encore.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an encore at a classical music performance before.
