Read your articles on the effect that increased food prices and increased demand for help from seniors on a fixed income, are having.
This is a sad situation and requires all to see what we can do to help.
I remember being asked to bring food donations to our church for several Sundays. It was quite successful, but when the Food Bank thanked us, they mentioned that it was more valuable to donate money as they could buy cheaper by buying in bulk and also getting the most needed items at the time, so, it was decided to place a special jar at the entry to the church for special donations.
This past Sunday it was announced that Tsawwassen United Church had collected $1,750. Maybe other groups could follow.
