Delta candidates asked what they’re going to do about climate crisis

Anthropogenic climate change is a scientifically observed fact of our modern world and a world-wide emergency that must involve every nation on Earth, Canada included.

The climate in Canada is observed to be warming twice as fast as in the rest of the world, most notably in the Arctic. We need to keep global temperature rise to 1.5 C to avoid climate catastrophe.

Climate change will severely impact me and my community, here in Ladner. Sea level rise as a consequence of Antarctic and Greenland glaciation melt will flood my home and prime agricultural land all around me without substantial dike improvements far beyond the resources of the City of Delta.
I challenge my local candidates to treat anthropogenic climate change as the emergency it is. I’m calling for candidates to be transparent, accountable and put forward a bold plan to help Canada combat the impending climate crisis.
I’m committed to backing this letter by casting my ballot for a safe climate future. And I invite my friends and neighbours to do the same.
