Re: Public Access on Ladner Dyke
I was in office when the former owner closed access to the dyke trail across his property. To say people were annoyed is an understatement. At the time, I spoke with the provincial Inspector of Dykes, who advised that if the municipality does not already control access it should consider expropriating the Right of Way. If negotiation for public access along the dyke fails, I would urge the City of Delta take that next step in protecting the public interest.
