Ethnic mix apparent at Ladner’s Remembrance Day ceremony

This past Remembrance Day the attendance at the Ladner Cenotaph was impressive. We were there to honour the men and women that presently serve our country and those whom have given their lives in the past to protect Canada, its citizens and our way of life.

The ethnic and cultural mix of the attendees, most of whom proudly wore poppies, was most apparent. Furthermore, many of the young cadets in the parade were from visible minorities. I assume that many of these young cadets are new Canadians or are members of families that have recently emigrated to Canada. They should be noted and commended.

It was nice to see members of our community regardless of our differences coming together to honour those who have in the past and will serve in the future.

Well done, South Delta. Well done, Ladner.
