Excavation concerns no reason to delay new tunnel

Some common sense perspective is needed here. We are talking about a one-time structure in one major city in one large country. This is not an everyday event.

We do not need three years of environmental studies. By now we know what we are dealing with and how to deal with it.

The amount of “hydrocarbon” contaminants is infinitesimal and insignificant compared to the idling of cars waiting for another 10 years to traverse the river — or a million other continuing causes of global warming.

Let’s get on with this tunnel, or bridge, now. Either that or just stop allowing more people to live here.
