Golden handshake re-addressed but leadership was lacking

Our council and mayor re-addressed the golden handshake at Monday's council meeting.

The most distressing part of the discussion was Robert Campbell stating, that the public simply was not smart enough to understand the implications. He stated that "they held their noses, voted yes, and trusted what staff told them."

Isn't that council and mayors job - to think for themselves and lead accordingly?

One councillor states that true leadership is making tough decisions.

Making a decision about a sizeable bonus, while admitting one didn't have the facts is not leadership of any kind.

This was a cop out, and a plea for votes from members running for re-election.

Worst part - they voted not to scrap the deal. Shameful!
