Re: See for yourself at Four Winds, letter to the editor, April 4
I read with interest the respectful letter inviting people to see for ourselves the premises and operation of the Four Winds brewery located in Tilbury. As I am considering living in the new Southlands village, I decided to accept the invitation and do my own research by checking out the current facility.
I found the information given to be completely accurate. There was absolutely no smell emanating and no discernable noise from either the back or the front. The size was acceptable and the cleanliness was evident everywhere. Traffic will increase as a result of Southlands, but I cannot see how this business more than any other would make a substantial difference.
The experience in the tasting room was very positive. I especially enjoyed how people of all ages were present and the tacos sure were good. It was the kind of place where people who would normally never go into a pub would feel comfortable.
Looking bigger picture, this business is run by second generation entrepreneurs in our community. Those of us who have been here a long time well remember the family-run Mills Paint business, and all kudos to the family for providing employment yet again within our community.
I believe having Four Winds within Southlands would enhance the area liveability, provide a social meeting place and employment. A thriving community needs these things.
