No matter what your religious belief, every Christmas it is a tradition in Canada to mail greeting cards to your family and friends. For the last many years we have been sending greetings via email.

Recently one of our friends remarked that it looks cheap to send greetings by email. I wonder how many of your readers must feel that way.

We explained to our friend that for years the postal fees and the value of cards that we save we donate to a charity of our choice. This is over and above the normal donations that we make to worthwhile organizations.

I feel it is the message and the spirit that you like to convey through Christmas greetings. Would it not be in a true Christmas spirit if we take advantage of technological progress and send Christmas messages by email and donate the postage amount so saved to some worthwhile organization?
