Lack of agreements with casino are costly for Delta

I asked Delta council about casino social contracts/agreements in an email in November 2018 and during question periods at council meetings on March 4 and 11. The city has not responded.

Why didn't Delta enter into social contracts/agreements during the bylaw process to require local labour and local suppliers for Gateway’s Cascades Casino Delta? And why didn't Delta procure extra payments for a responsible gaming fund or crime costs?

The City of Vancouver did and is receiving an additional $600,000 per year from its gaming service provider. Over a 30-year lease in Delta, this could add up to $18 million in lost funds and a negative local economic impact.

Is there still an opportunity to enter into these type of contracts/agreements with Gateway?
