LETTERS: ‘Overstuffed’ Centennial Beach might have to put up no vacancy sign

Over crowded beach

Editor:

I walk my dog through Centennial Beach every day and I’ve seen the taped off fire pits at the beginning of social distancing. Recently, I have noticed this beach has become very overcrowded, to the point where I have to say excuse me repeatedly just to walk on the path.

Having the shuttle service allows this beach to become overstuffed. What if someone riding the shuttle tests positive for the COVID-19 virus? How on earth would you trace the hundreds of people they could have exposed?

I think a logical thing to do would be to put up a sign when the parking lot is full that reads: “Sorry, this park is at capacity, please visit at another time.”
