Little garbage but lots of something else on Tsawwassen beaches

As a new dog owner who finds herself walking the lovely beaches surrounding Tsawwassen daily, I have taken to picking up trash I find along the shoreline as a small contribution toward reducing pollution of our oceans. There are others I meet who do the same. I am happy to report that most days the trash I pick up is very little.

It is disturbing the amount of dog waste left on the beach is not so positive. In addition to polluting our coastal waters, this practice of leaving dog waste on the beaches poses a health risk to beach goers.

Picking up your animal waste is also part of being a responsible, respectful citizen of Delta, according to our municipal bylaws. Thanks for keeping this in mind the next time you are out on our beautiful beaches with your pup.
