From the Albertan in the silver grey Ford Escape driving around like a crazy women chasing a little black dog in East Ladner on Tuesday, June 25, I want to thank all the people who gave chase with me and tried to catch Cali.

I was beside myself. I let the dog out and didn’t realize the back gate was open. She looked at me and made a dash for it.

To the women who drove around with her children and encouraged one of her children to try and catch Cali, a huge heartfelt thank you to all of you.

To the Delta service worker who caught up in the chase, thank you very much. I lost Cali when I got in the right turn lane and she went left on Ladner Trunk Road. I had to turn right and ended up on the highway. That’s when I lost it and thought the worst.

By the time I made it back around I was at a loss to where to even start looking for her. As I rounded the corner on 62nd Street in tears I saw the Delta truck with the kind-hearted man who tried to help catch the dog and a bylaw officer standing on the road. Fearing the worst, I braced myself and was told the dog was at home with its owner.

Thank you for all you did to have it come out with a happy ending. It warms my heart to know there are still a lot of kind hearted people in this world. To all of you, a huge hug and thank you.
