‘Progressives’ continue their crusade on Christmas

First came the removal of the statue of Sir John A. MacDonald, Canada’s first prime minister, from the steps of Victoria City Hall, and now Victoria Coun. Ben Isitt’s objections to Christian symbolism in Victoria’s seasonal Christmas decorations.

Political correctness is truly running amok amongst the busy zealots of social engineering, spreading the idea that minorities were offended by Christmas and other public expressions of traditional Canadian culture.

Au contraire, it should be clearly noted that such sentiments have not originated with minority New Canadians, but instead with self-proclaimed so-called “progressive” middle-class higher purpose white folks, such as Isitt, who think it the very essence of enlightened liberalism to diminish their own cultural and religious traditions as offensive to others and to have those traditions eliminated.

And so, in our efforts for true inclusiveness, it is those people we really have to fear, and what is worse is how the virus of political correctness has infected our society - to the point where our multicultural outreach endeavours of accommodation to newcomers have truly descended into a theatre of the absurd.

On a related note: Sanity seems to have prevailed... and “Baby it’s cold outside” has been reinstated by the timid souls of our radio stations.

Perhaps there’s hope after all?
