Re: Stick to the OCP, argue Delta residents opposed to tower, Oct. 21

First, I would like to thank you for reporting on our information session/protest in Sunday Oct.20 in the pouring rain.

The fact that residents from differing corners of Delta stood together in the pouring rain for two hours shows me that residents do understand that if this application that varies from the OCP, the Future Land Use Plan and the current zoning, is approved, precedence is set and any area can see such, whether it is single-family residential or not.

The reference that Deep Dhillon keeps making to keeping up with Surrey is moot for the direct areas as there are already established six-storey townhomes and homes.

While reviewing Surrey’s latest plans online, the most that I could find for high density was from King George Boulevard to 152nd Street.

I have heard there is an application at 122nd Street and 72nd Avenue to vary from four storeys to six at the area between Home Depot and the theatres.

Keep the nodes that are zoned and scheduled as high density and the areas zoned and scheduled for medium/single-family as they are meant to be.
