As a 21-year-old university student I know there are generational changes happening in our communities. I love to call Delta my home and hope to one day raise a family here.
However, I am concerned that our mayor and council do not have any members who can relate to my generation. Our voice is not heard in Delta. This is my first municipal election I get to vote in, and as such I wanted to make an informed vote.
When I found out that George Harvie decided to ask young candidates Dylan Kruger and Alicia Guichon to join his slate I found it remarkable.
We need more politicians like Harvie who will step up and let my generation’s voices be heard. It is for this reason that I will be voting in my first municipal election for a slate that I know is going to make positive progressive differences in Delta.
I am proud to say I support George Harvie and the Achieving for Delta slate.
