Young cashier shows initiative by wearing mask

As we go out to buy our essentials during this time, I am very happy when I see store clerks wearing face masks.

Meridian Farm Market in Tsawwassen does not have this policy it seems. Yes, it has put plexiglass up, like most other food stores, but I am always a bit nervous when I don't see a cashier or employee wearing a mask.

I was so happy to see one young cashier wearing one in the store the other day. He was the only employee to have one, but I was so happy to be in his line. I asked if we was told to wear it and he said he was doing it to help flatten the curve. Bravo!

I wish I had seen the other employees taking this matter seriously. We tend to think of the younger generation as ignoring the rules, so it was wonderful to see this young employee (his nametag said Ben) doing what was right, and taking his own initiative.

He is a wonderful example for the young people of Tsawwassen to follow.
