More funding for transit should be a priority for government at all levels.

That’s according to the results of one of the Optimist’s community polls.

The Optimist polled 281 readers and asked the question: Do you think more money should be put into transit to improve service to and from South Delta?

The poll ran from Sept. 16 to Sept. 23, 2021. Of the 281 votes, we can determine that 138 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

YES 78.99 per cent local, 74.73 per cent total

NO 21.01 per cent local, 25.27 per cent total

Results are based on an online study of adult Delta Optimist readers that are located in Ladner. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- %, 19 times out of twenty.

Delta Optimist uses a variety of techniques to capture data, detect and prevent fraudulent votes, detect and prevent robots, and filter out non-local and duplicate votes.
