Not all of MP's constituents in favour of Tory crime bill

So Kerry-Lynne Findlay thinks her constituents are in support of the Conservative crime bill. She obviously hasn't talked to me.

I think it is a senseless waste of money at a time when we are facing significant fiscal challenges.

It costs over $100,000 a year to house one inmate and they want to add to what is already one of the most incarcerated populations in the developed world.

It would be far better to spend money on prevention - intervention for children at risk, poverty alleviation, safe housing, education and employment opportunities and it would have far more positive impacts for our society and our economy.

I, for one, don't feel unsafe - never have. For once it would be nice to see the Conservative MPs make a decision based on evidence instead of ideology, but I suppose it is too much to ask for them to use their brains for once.
