The letter from Kent Warmington, giving details of the Tsawwassen First Nation development plans, referred only to the period up until 2021. TFN recently increased its growth projections for housing units in the Metro Regional Growth Strategy.

These have been approved by the Metro board and are 1,900 units by 2021, 2,900 by 2031 and 4,400 by 2041.

This gives a real appreciation of just how much new housing is likely to be available in South Delta, apart from infill, Tsawwassen Springs and other sources.

The community and Delta council need to examine the overall impact and effect of these plans, in conjunction with the Gateway/South Fraser Perimeter Road juggernaut.
