Re: Traffic impacts to be 'insane,' May 9
When I read the headline, I thought our mayor and council had finally come to the realization what any Southlands development would do to our local traffic situation.
Reading the article I found it was directed to the TFN development and not to the 1,000plus cars we can expect if the Century Group gets approval for its 950 residence plan for the Southlands.
The situations are almost identical. The article states the mayor and several council members are condemning the provincial and federal governments for their plans to pave over valuable ALR farmland.
Locally, Delta, through its elected individuals, is faced with the same decision. Do we pave over the valuable Southlands farmland and suffer unsolvable traffic problems so a developer can profit?
