Editor: Over the past few months I have read numerous letters and articles about the teachers and government.

Editor: I am writing on the lack of development in Ladner Village and the overall slow advance of new affordable homes in Ladner.

Arriving at our friends' house in Kelowna, a note on their door advised they were off rescuing an injured bird from a local golf course.

Editor: I would like to send out a huge thank you to those people who came to my aid after an unfortunate event last Thursday afternoon while heading back into Ladner on Highway 10.

Editor: Like many Delta residents, I was unaware the large, derelict, yellow farm house on Ladner Trunk Road actually had a name, let alone a cause in its name.

Editor: We have a beautiful new road along Ladner Trunk from Highway 17A to past 64th Street, complete with bike lanes. My friend and I now enjoy walking our dogs along the quieter road.

Last week we looked at some easy to grow plants for late summer to fall colour for the sunny garden. Today lets look at some choices for shade. Most of you have probably used Impatiens in your garden over the years.

When I transferred to my current school in Ladner, I had lofty goals of commuting to work, by bicycle, along the Boundary Bay dyke. I wish I could report that I was a biking machine with the fortitude of an Ironman triathlete, but I wasn’t.

Editor: My family and I left Richmond almost 20 years ago to escape density issues and developments that ignored the existing neighbourhoods and area plans.

When I die, I want people to have a good time at my funeral. I see it as a laid-back, pet-friendly affair. Depending on how many people still like me by then, it will either be held in a community hall or someone's living room.
