Editor: In October of 2011, in response to an election promise, Mayor Lois Jackson formed the Delta Seniors Advisory Committee, which she would chair.

Editor: During the past few years, developments have proceeded at Tsawwassen Springs, Marina Gardens and Tsawwassen First Nations. All of these developments were proposed and authorized after the proposals for the Southlands development.

Editor: I recently read an article in Maclean's stating that not only is it important that we save all the farmland that we have in order to feed future generations, but that we encourage young people to become farmers.

Editor: I carefully watch the Southlands saga, which is over 40 years old now.

Editor: Re: Bridge set to replace tube, Sept. 25 Does anyone else feel duped? Those community consultations were a complete sham that were set up to make us, the public, feel as if we had a say.

Editor: Gosh, there are a lot of little chickens (oops, I meant Chicken Littles!) living in Tsawwassen, it seems. The sky is falling over the Southlands. Truck exhaust is gonna kill us, maybe even way up here in North Delta.

Hello! I'm back from a sixmonth sabbatical. It's hard to believe I started contributing to this column back in 2005; time sure passes.

As I write this column, I don't know what the letters to the editor on our op-ed page are about and what the writers say. I usually see them for the first time when they are published in the paper.
