Soon all those summertime activities won't work

I haven't seen any monarch butterflies this summer. Their disappearance has been noted throughout North America. The number heading north from their wintering grounds in Mexico is way down. I haven't seen a definitive reason for this decline.

I definitely had a heads up, so perhaps I came at it with an unfair advantage, but the temporary exit on northbound Highway 99 didn't seem, I'm afraid to say, as confusing as advertised.

Editor: Re: Park suits more than just dogs, Murphy's Law, Sept. 4 I read with keen interest Ted Murphy's editorial on the North 40. I have been walking on this wonderful piece of property long before it was an official off-leash park.

Editor: Over the past summer, many parents from Boundary Bay have been scrambling to set up some sort of regular and reliable transportation for our children to attend school at either South Park Elementary or South Delta Secondary.

Editor: If I understand the bunkum of the union bosses correctly, all non-union employers are villains. I work in a non-union company and I receive a comparable wage and benefits. I have nothing to complain about.

Editor: Re: Don't miss new exit or you'll end up in tunnel, Aug. 28 Thanks for the heads up; too bad it was too little, too late. I was returning to Tsawwassen from White Rock around 1 p.m. last Tuesday.

Editor: Port Metro Vancouver is planning to disturb and destroy vital foreshore habitat in Canada's most significant Important Bird Area and internationally designated Ramsar site.

Suffice to say we live in a great time and place in Delta. In terms of climate, our moderate coastal winds and warm ocean currents are the envy of all Canadians.
