Editor: Re: Mayor opposed to legalizing pot, Oct. 12 At a recent Union of B.C. Municipalities convention in Victoria, a majority of municipal leaders voted in favour of a resolution calling for the decriminalization and taxation of marijuana.

Editor: There is a family of three raccoons living in the Village area of Tsawwassen. They have obviously been fed by, and show little fear of, humans.

We can learn a lot from watching water. Flowing water always follows the path of least resistance. Barriers slow its progress, but water always finds another way. Water flow is a metaphor for so many aspects of out lives. Take traffic.

Editor: Re: New bridge might not be the fix, Murphy's Law, Oct. 5 I enjoyed reading Ted Murphy's recent article and he makes some valid points about the George Massey Tunnel.

Editor: I know this has been argued for a long time, but is this reasonable? Leaving Boundary Bay Wednesday morning, I saw firefighters from the Delta Fire Department heading down 3rd Avenue as first responders.

Editor: It's a tale of two towers. With rapid transit we wouldn't need to replace the tunnel ... but woe to anyone who proposes a six-storey office building. Rapid transit is an enormous investment requiring intense ridership to justify cost.
