Editor: People who have followed the Council of Canadians' involvement in the fight to stop the South Fraser Perimeter Road will know I'm not a big fan of highways.

Editor: I would like to thank our community for the tremendous response to our Un-Garage Sale. Ladner Baptist Church held a garage sale with a twist - we gave everything away.

Editor: Re: Keep poultry where it belongs, letter to the editor, Aug. 5 I couldn't agree with David Batchelor more whole-heartedly.

SmartMeters! They are coming your way and there is no choice: you will have a SmartMeter installed on your home. You can pay to have it relocated near your home, but install it they will, like it or not.

Editor: A recent letter by Bob Orrick that followed a letter by Mike McConnell regarding the lighting and safety in the George Massey Tunnel led me to write this letter. Orrick is quite right on all three counts: 1. Ventilation.

We often get wrapped up in neighbourhood issues we care a lot about. Spot development on our street. Dog owners that don't clean up after their dogs. Tree cutting. We care about the neighborhoods we live in.

Editor: I want to share a notso-green government story with you. Last Thursday, I received a randomly-selected audit letter from Revenue Canada, asking for proof of the tuition I paid last year for my master's program.

Editor: Re: Mayor sorry for radio comment, Aug. 3 I listened to Mayor Lois Jackson on the radio with Bill Good last week as they discussed Metro Vancouver moving forward with requests for proposals for a facility to incinerate garbage.

Editor: As a result of Tsawwassen being described as "strip mall hell" by a U.S. publication, Delta determined a course of action that can be best described as "don't just stand there - panic!" One offending mall was demolished but Mother Corp.
