An estimated 450 people braved the cold waters of Boundary Bay on Sunday afternoon Jan. 1 as the City of Delta hosted its annual Polar Bear Swim, which was held for the first time in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Prizes and awards were handed out to Harlan Theaker, Luke Logan and Bobby Yagin as the top three swimmers who reached the bell first after the swim. George Brazier received a prize at the oldest swimmer while Sheree Stevens, who was visiting from Australia, received a prize for the participant who took part from the furthest away from Delta.Jim Kinnear
