Richmond crash between scooter, minivan under investigation

Richmond RCMP are investigation a collision between a scooter and minivan that sent one person to hospital Tuesday afternoon.  

The crash, which involved a Piaggio scooter and Dodge minivan, happened just before noon Tuesday, Feb. 18, near Lynas Lane and Dover Crescent — just north of Westminster Highway — according to Cpl. Dennis Hwang, spokesperson for Richmond RCMP.

The driver of the scooter, a man in his 60s, was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, said Hwang.

The minivan’s driver, a man in his early 60s, was unharmed.

Speed isn’t believed to be a factor in the crash, said Hwang, and Richmond RCMP are continuing their investigation.
