Delta rowers thrive at indoor regatta

Dedicated winter training pays off with seven podium finishes at St. Georges

Delta Deas Rowing Club were in impressive form at the "Beat the Beast) indoor regatta held earlier this month at St. Georges in Vancouver. The podium finishers included: back row- Maya Belic, Olivia Kwiatkowski, Sophie Gower and Maya Desrochers. Front row- Hana Anderson, and Asya Zenin-Segrc.

Delta Deas Rowing Club produced some impressive results at the recent “Beat the Beast” indoor regatta at St. Georges School in Vancouver.

After a hard working winter of dryland training and hitting the gym, DDRC rowers were in excellent form against competition from all over the Lower Mainland. 

Top three finishes in all major categories bodes well for the start of the regatta season in the spring and the team is ready for the thermometer to rise so they can get their boats in the water.

Results included:

U19 -Heavyweight: 2nd -Maya Desrochers. 3rd -Olivia Kwiatkowski.

U19 -Lightweight: 2nd -Hana Anderson.

U17 -Heavyweight: 1st -Sophie Gower. 3rd -Maya Belic.

U17 -Lightweight: 1st -Asya Zenin-Segrc

U15: 1st -Madeline Steel.
