It’s an impressive line-up of teams for the Delta Wild Midget Winter Classic that gets underway on Thursday at Planet Ice.
The Delta Hockey Academy hosted tournament features two divisions — Elite 15 and Midget Prep. The Elite 15 line-up includes teams from Los Angeles and Everett while a Winnipeg entry has made the trek to the West Coast to compete in the Midget Prep Division.
The host Wild will have two teams competing in Midget Prep including a 16U squad, while the DHA Elite 15s will open their round-robin schedule with an intriguing match-up against the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds of B.C. Hockey’s Minor Midget League.
Round-robin play in both divisions runs through Saturday afternoon. The semi-finals take place that evening and the championship games go at 4:15 p.m. (Elite 15) and 4:30 p.m. (Midget Prep) on Sunday.
