The Vancouver Giants took a 3-0 series lead over the Victoria Royals with a 5-4 overtime win Tuesday night in Victoria.

Tuesday night in Victoria the Vancouver Giants proved to be a resilient foe. Three different times they trailed and three different times they fought their way back en route to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Victoria Royals.

Owen Hardy’s second goal of the game at 13:34 of overtime helped cement the victory, which gives the Giants a 3-0 series lead.

Other Giants’ goals came courtesy of Jared Dmytriw, Milos Roman and Alex Kannok Leipert. Bowen Byram added two assists.

Mitchell Prowse and Scott Walford each had two points for the Royals who got 52 saves from Griffen Outhouse. The Giants got 16 saves in response from Trent Miner who improved to 4-1 in the playoffs.

The Giants will now look to earn a berth into the Western Conference final with a victory Thursday night in Game 4 in Victoria.

In the other Western Conference series, Spokane looks to go up 3-0 in their series with Everett on Wednesday night in game three of the series.

Out East, Saskatoon is back in its series with the Prince Albert Raiders after the Blades skated to a 1-0 win in game three Tuesday night. The Raiders lead the series 2-1 with game four Wednesday night in Saskatoon.

The Edmonton Oil Kings took a 3-0 series lead over the Calgary Hitmen with a 2-1 overtime win in Calgary Tuesday night. Edmonton will look to close that series out in game four Wednesday night.
