Jordy Engelson is congratulated after another impressive performance.

When the Delta Ice Hawks return for their next Pacific Junior Hockey League season they will have a familiar face between the pipes.

The PJHL club announced last week that Jordy Engleson will return to the club for his fourth season.

The Ice Hawks’ Director of Digital Media/Game Operations Manager Katie Lawrence caught up with Engleson for a Q&A. Below is their interview.

Q:How do you feel about returning to the Hawks for a fourth season?

A:It’s very exciting and also surreal how fast time has flown through my junior years. It feels like not that long ago when I joined the team as a 16-year-old rookie. There is no other team I’d rather spend my junior years with.

Q:How have you been keeping busy and active during the COVID-19 crisis?

A:I have been mainly been busy taking care of my new puppy. As for staying in shape, I am fortunate we just got a spin bike last month so I’ve been using that frequently.

Q:What are you looking forward to most in the upcoming season?

A:I am looking forward to seeing everyone the most, as this time has definitely made me miss the locker room that much more. Also, I am looking forward to getting back on the ice and getting the rust off.

Q:If Delta is awarded the Cyclone Taylor, how would you feel about hosting the provincial championship in your last year of junior hockey?

A:To host the Cyclone Taylor Cup in my final year of junior would be a storybook ending. In my rookie season when our team made it to the Cup in Richmond, it was an unreal atmosphere to experience. Unfortunately, our team came short of the top spot, but as things could come full circle, it would be great if we had another shot at raising the cup.
