Ladner’s Braedy Euerby is one of four players re-assigned to the Delta Hockey Academy on Tuesday by the Vancouver Giants as they get closer to their regular season opener.
The 16-year-old goaltender saw his first pre-season action in the Giants’ 7-3 loss to the Prince George Cougars on Saturday at the Langley Events Centre. He made 15 saves on 18 shots while sharing the crease duties with Drew Sim.
Euerby is expected to join the DHA Midget Prep team after a standout season with the Elite 15s last season, going 12-4 with a 1.89 goals against average and .939 save percentage.
He signed with the Giants back in April after being their fifth round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.
A standout two-sport athlete, Euerby went 5-6 this season with the 3.12 ERA with the B.C. Premier Baseball League’s North Delta Blue Jays after two dominant years at the Bantam AAA level with the Delta Tigers.
Also being re-assigned to DHA by the Giants were Sim, along defenceman Tanner Brown and forward Krz Plummer.
Vancouver’s roster now stands at 25 players — 15 forwards, eight d-men and two goaltenders ahead of their 2018 season opener on Sept. 21 against the Everett Silvertips.
