Match-ups set for Delta Baskeball League's Super Saturday

Five championship games to be played this weekend at South Delta Secondary

The South Delta Sun Devils held off the Delta Pacers 43-34 on Wednesday to advance to the Delta Basketball League's junior girls final against Seaquam as part of the Super Saturday line-up at SDSS.

The match-ups are set for Delta Basketball League’s Super Saturday championship games at South Delta Secondary School.

The five title games culminates regular season play and this week’s playoff action. Most teams will also be moving onto the inaugural South Fraser Championships in their respective grades. The zone features the top teams from Delta, Surrey and Richmond with provincial berths on the line.

Super Saturday will get underway at 9 a.m. with the host Sun Devils taking on the Burnsview Griffins after the teams produced semi-final wins over Seaquam Seahawks and Delta Pacers respectively.

The Grade 8 boys’ game tips-off at 10:30 a.m. and will feature the undefeated North Delta Huskies and the Delview Raiders, following their wins on Wednesday over Burnsview and South Delta. 

The Grade 9 boys final goes at noon with the Huskies taking on the Seahawks.

The action continues with the junior girls final at 1:30 p.m. as the Seahawks will be looking to cap a perfect run in city play against the Sun Devils. The teams recorded semi-final wins over the Huskies and Pacers respectively.

The day culminates with the junior boys title game at 3 p.m. as the Seahawks take on the Pacers after their wins over Delview and the Sands Scorpions on Wednesday.
