The Canucks got the guy they wanted on day one of the 2018 NHL Draft, getting Quinn Hughes at seventh overall . The first round could not have broken any better for them.

The Canucks got the guy they wanted on day one of the 2018 NHL Draft, getting Quinn Hughes at seventh overall. The first round could not have broken any better for them.

Sometimes, however, the second day is what defines a successful draft for a team. You should get an impact player with a top-ten pick. You need to be able to hit on your picks outside the first round to build a deep prospect pool.

The Canucks did so in 2017, adding promising prospects like Kole Lind, Jonah Gadjovich, Michael DiPietro, and Petrus Palmu. It also provided the quote of the draft for the Canucks: "Why isn't anyone taking Kole Lind?"

The Canucks currently have five more picks in the draft: who will they take?
