Quebec's Céleste Dao carded a 1-over 73 during Thursday's third round at the Canadian Junior Girls Golf Championship at Beach Grove.

Quebec native Céleste Dao will take a one shot lead into today’s final round at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship at Beach Grove Golf Club.

The national development team member carded a 1-over 73 on Thursday to hold off Ontario’s Emily Zhu who had the best round of the day — a 2-under 70. They are the only golfers under par and tee off at 11:32 a.m. Friday morning, along with Vancouver’s Tiffany Kong who is alone in third, seven shots off the pace.

Beach Grove’s own Amanda Minni is tied for 13th (77-74-76). The Oregon State women’s golf team member tees off at 10:48 a.m.

Zhu leads the Juvenile Division by six strokes, sitting 1-under 215 for the tournament. Sarah Beqaj from Toronto sits in second at 6-over 222.

Dao is looking for her second national title of the year. She captured the Mexican Junior Girls Championship back in May.

An outstanding second round on Wednesday had Ontario’s Ellie Szeryk sitting in second place with a 1-under total. However, the national development team member was later disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard.
