B.C Soccer has awarded South Delta the top standard for its Club Charter Program.

South Delta United Soccer Club has achieved standard 1 of the B.C Soccer Club Charter Program.

The program is based on meeting Administrative, Technical, and Governance criteria. The criteria and the program were created to help assure players, parents, coaches, and administrators that their club is operating and meeting a set of on and off-field standards.

“South Delta United is proud to be recognized for meeting Club Charter Standard,” Rich Zahn, President, South Delta United. “We believe it shows our commitment to achieving excellence across all areas of our club - administrative, governance, and technical programming.  Thank you to all the volunteers who worked hard to get us to this point, and to BC Soccer for their assistance.”

South Delta United Soccer Club was formed in the 2016-2017 season as an amalgamation of the Ladner Boys, Ladner Girls, and Tsawwassen Soccer Clubs. The club offers boys and girls U5-U18 programming as well as spring and summer programming.

“I want to congratulate South Delta United Soccer Club for achieving Standard 1 of the BC Soccer Club Charter Program,” said Kjeld Brodsgaard, BC Soccer President. “Achieving Standard 1 shows the dedication that the club’s staff and volunteers have to create the best possible learning environment for all players and coaches. We look forward to continuing to work with South Delta United as they continue provide a wonderful soccer experience for youth players.”

Canada Soccer has commended B.C. Soccer for the work that has been completed over the last two years on the development and implementation of BC Soccer’s Club Charter Program. Canada Soccer has confirmed to BC Soccer that BC Soccer Club Charter Standard 1 clubs will be positioning accordingly within the new Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program once released. Thus, Canada Soccer wants all BC Clubs to become BC Soccer Club Charter Standard 1 clubs.
