South Delta Sun Devils won all three matches during their two-week tour of the United Kingdom. They make their home debut Tuesday against Langley.

The defending B.C. “AAA” boys rugby champions make their Canadian soil debut on Tuesday in Tsawwassen.

Following a successful two week tour of the United Kingdom, the South Delta Sun Devils will entertain the Langley Saints at 4 p.m. to kickoff their Fraser Valley regular season schedule.

The UK trip saw the players billeted at four different schools — starting at Uxbridge (just outside of London) and ending at Kinross (near Edinburgh). In total, the tour covered 790 kilometres. It was made possible by extensive fundraising projects over the past couple of years.

The Sun Devils won all three matches against Vyners School (15-12), Bedstone College (22-12) and Kinross (28-14).

Other highlights of the trip included taking in England’s 57-14 over Italy in Six Nations Championship play that attracted 82,000 fans to Twickenham Stadium.

The boys have had a week to recover from jet lag and will play two games over a four-day span. On Friday, they head Abbotsford to take on Kelowna. It is part of B.C. Secondary Schools Rugby Union’s Stadium Series.

The match will take place at Rotary Stadium — the same venue where the Sun Devils captured their first ever provincial title a year ago against Robert Bateman.

A number of key players are back from that championship team and it should be another highly competitive season for head coach Spencer Bains’ squad.
