Sun Devils seeded 5th for provincials

The Fraser Valley champion South Delta Sun Devils have earned the No. 5 seed for the 16-team B.C. AAA Championships which get underway on Wednesday in Surrey.

South Delta Sun Devils have been seeded fifth for the B.C. AAA Field Hockey Championships which begin on Wednesday in Surrey.

The Fraser Valley champions will open round-robin play against Centennial (No. 12) and Okanagan Mission (No. 15). Wins would lock up a quarter-final berth and set-up a probable first place match with No. 2 Cowichan on Thursday morning.

The quarter-finals take place Thursday afternoon and all placement games go on Friday. Tamanawis and Cloverdale Athletic Park are the tournament venues.

North Vancouver’s Handsworth Royals are the top seed while No. 3 Kelowna and No. 4 Oak Bay round out the top five.
