Sandhar Trucking Ltd., a family-owned transportation and warehousing company that was founded in Richmond, is actively hiring for all positions within its organization.
“Different roles and positions require different qualities and skills, but for all the jobs, you need to be able to work in a team and be detail-oriented. Communication is key in this industry.” Manager Aaron Sandhar says.
Over the past year, the company has expanded rapidly, including moving operations into the United States. Offices in both Delta and Richmond require people to fill roles in sales, accounting, warehousing, driving, safety and compliance, and more.
“It’s a fast-paced environment with lots of moving parts. You have to be able to keep up with that and with many things changing at once,” Sandhar adds.
Sandhar Trucking was started over 30 years ago by Sandhar’s father.
“He started with just one truck and expanded from there,” Sandhar says.
Now, the company is approved by The Port of Vancouver to service all major ports including Deltaport, Vanterm, Centerm and Fraser Surrey Docks. It also provides service to both CN Rail and CP Rail and operates a 100,000 square foot bonded warehouse in Delta that is authorized to conduct Canada Border Services Agency examinations.
“There is a level of job security here,” Sandhar says.
“Trucking and warehousing are essential services. COVID-19 hit and we ended up growing. We’re fortunate to be in an industry that wasn’t affected.”
