Who doesn’t love a summer getaway? While we can’t indulge in a faraway vacation yet, why not explore locally.

With everything gradually reopening this summer, “staycations” are the theme for this season. And what better way to show some love and support for local businesses who have weathered the pandemic to welcome us back safely.

If you are looking for places to explore, the South Delta area in BC is an underrated gem worth a visit. This beautiful oceanside community with walkable neighbourhoods boasts a bustling local economy alongside a rich agricultural district.

South Delta is peppered with local businesses that serve this community. Browse our South Delta Staycation spotlight to plan your summer staycation.

A summer trip to South Delta is incomplete without a stop to sample all the fresh local produce. Step back in time at the Emma Lea Farms in Ladner. Check out Superior Fish Market Ltd for a large selection of fish and other local and imported gourmet goods.

The food scene in South Delta is worth a taste. The area is home to BC favourites like the Four Winds Brewing Company. Try Illuminate Restorante and Riverhouse Restaurant, Pub & Marina to get a taste of what the area has to offer.

For some local shopping, stop by Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall at the heart of the community. Community favourite West Coast Seeds is a one-stop-shop for all gardening needs but offers a little something for everyone. Arrange a visit to Jodie Blaney Fine Art Studio and Gallery, a backyard studio gallery located minutes from historic Ladner Village, for beautiful original artwork by artist Jodie Blaney.

Local organizations and community leaders like the Delta Chamber of Commerce, Tsawwassen B.I.A., and South Delta Artist Guild work tirelessly to advocate for the region and make it the destination that it is.

The community is also home to many local businesses offering services to the community, such as Atlantis Day Spa, and local staples like The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy.
