Award-winning Vancouver performer Bonnie Kilroe is bringing her musical comedy impersonation show DIVAS: Vegas meets Vaudeville to the KinVillage Community Centre in Tsawwassen next Saturday.
“This is my second time [coming] to KinVillage. Last year, I performed Country Queens to a full house and I can’t wait for them all to come back to see DIVAS, the biggest and most extravagant of all my shows,” says Kilroe.
DIVAS is a 100-minute musical comedy celebrity impersonation show featuring 20 iconic singers, actresses and entertainers from the past - Mae West, Marilyn Monroe - through legends with timeless appeal - Cher, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Reba McEntire, Tina Turner - to stars of the present - Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Shakira, among others.
Throughout the show, Kilroe uses her improvisational skills as a performer to encourage audience participation, which adds an extra element of novelty and surprise.
Kilroe is fresh from the Sunburst convention for Professional Celebrity Impersonators in Orlando where she was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Most Unique Act. She also received a Gold Showcase award, judged by local agents.
She will perform Saturday, Feb. 24 at KinVillage Community Centre, 5430-10th Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $22 for members and $27 for non-members. Dinner also available for $15.
