Celebrating art and transformation

Minister's Minute

This is the fifth year that we, at Tsawwassen United Church are presenting an Arts Fair Weekend to celebrate local art forms and the artist and artisans behind the work. It has been a joy to meet the people of our communities that seek to give creative expression to the world. We really do have a richness of gift and a wealth of ability in our communities.

Art is an aspect of the creative process and has historically been used as a teaching tool, an inspirational visual engagement, a practical expression of inner conviction and so much more. Since art offers the invitation for 'transformation'of heart, mind and spirit, that became the name of our annual weekend event.

What is art for you?

We would love to open the opportunities to share the stories, hear the questions and engage the conversations with artists and artisans in the community of South Delta.

It seems to me that these kinds of engagements take us into deeper and more meaningful expressions of who we are as individuals and members of society seeking to live well together. Conversation that matter, recognizing the work of God's Spirit within us.

It is through conversations of mutual interest that we come to know each other in ways that allow for our differences of opinion to be approached with genuine respect and a deeper level of understanding.

I you have a free moment this Pentecost weekend come and enjoy the Art and some good conversation.
