The Langley Ukulele Ensemble will perform a spring concert when the group visits KinVillage Community Centre this Sunday.

The Langley Ukulele Ensemble is now in its 36th year – 32 years under the direction of Peter Luongo and, for the past four years, under the direction of Paul Luongo.

During this time the group has developed a reputation at home and abroad for excellence in musical performance. The 20 ensemble members range in age from 13 to 18 years, and are students attending middle school, secondary or post-secondary institutions.

During this past year, the ensemble travelled to Honolulu, Hawaii where it celebrated its 23rd annual tour at the Sheraton Waikiki resort. Performing as many as 80 concerts per year, the ensemble has travelled throughout Canada and the U.S., as well as to Japan. It has performed at many local community events like the CTV Toy Mountain Christmas Event, Global Christmas Wish Breakfast, Whistler Arts Festival and Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival, to name a few.

The concert is set for Sunday, April 8 at 2 p.m. at KinVillage Community Centre, 5430-10th Ave., Tsawwassen. Admission is by donation. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
