Four Winds Brewing Company is presenting Winded, a 5km fun run to benefit Deltassist next Saturday.

The family business enjoys working with Deltassist, says Four Winds’ Adam Mills.

“To us, it’s the ideal partnership and we’re happy to help,” he says.

The upcoming event also includes a post-race barbecue and hopefully some live music, he notes.

“It’s going to be great,” says Mills.

The start and finish point for the fun run is Earthwise Society headquarters, 6400-3rd Ave., in Boundary Bay.

Sign in starts at 9 a.m. while the race starts at 10 a.m.

Registration costs $50 and includes a water bottle, two Four Winds beers and barbecue. Visit raceroster.com to register. There’s a $10 admission fee for non-runners who’d like to attend the after party. The event is also sponsored by Newmans Fine Foods and the RunInn.

Deltassist, a social services agency, is in the midst of its first-ever Christmas in July campaign. The response has been awesome so far, says community services coordinator Colleen Danes.

Deltassist is accepting donations of food, gift cards, toys for infants and gifts for teens.

The non-profit organization is also putting on a barbecue and bake sale at its North Delta office (9097 Scott Rd.) on Saturday, July 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with support from Petra’s by L’Aromas, Earthwise and Monte Cristo Bakery.

— Deltassist has also put together a Wish List that will help it provide better service to individuals, families and the community. It includes:

• New child car seats
• Infant formula
• New board room table and chairs
• New office chairs
• Printing costs for pamphlets and promotional materials
• Electronic display board
• Day care costs for parenting groups
